I have lived, worked, and attended school in Conway for more than 30 years. I have served on a city advisory board, volunteered throughout our community, and spent years following local government. I have seen how much better our decisions can be when residents receive clear information, have a meaningful opportunity to participate, and know their concerns will be taken seriously.
I am running to bring a practical, independent, and well-prepared voice to Ward 2, specifically one focused on transparent government, fair decisions, responsible growth, and the everyday services that make Conway a good place to call home.
I will work to publish meeting agendas and supporting materials earlier, establish a clearly advertised public-comment period, and give residents meaningful opportunities to participate before decisions are final. City government should be straightforward to follow, with clear documents, adequate notice, and transparent votes.
Conway must catch up on street maintenance and address drainage problems before they become more expensive. I will advocate for transparent, effective use of the voter-approved streets-and-drainage tax, including clear public reporting that shows residents where the money is going and what results it produces.
Conway should encourage well-planned housing and small-scale development while protecting neighborhoods, infrastructure, and public safety. I support optional, pre-approved plans for cottages, duplexes, townhomes, and other missing-middle housing, giving residents and small developers a simpler path to build homes people can afford to purchase.
I oppose the proposed Conway data center because of its scale, utility demands, neighborhood and environmental effects, tax incentives, and the lack of a transparent public process. If it comes before the City Council, I will oppose approvals that advance it and put Conway residents first.
Conway’s on-demand transit service is a useful start, but residents also need transportation they can plan around. I support keeping on-demand service while adding one or two scheduled routes, including an east-west connection among neighborhoods, downtown, and major employers.
Widening roads alone will not solve congestion. I will support safe, connected sidewalks, crossings, trails, bicycle facilities, and transit access alongside targeted road improvements. Giving residents more transportation choices improves safety and reduces pressure on our streets.
City budgets should prioritize public safety, streets, drainage, sanitation, infrastructure, and the employees who provide those services. I will protect Conway’s comparatively low cost of living, demand clear reporting, and require a transparent public case before supporting new taxes or discretionary projects.
I would vote against renewing Conway’s license-plate-reader contract when it expires. Police need effective tools, but recording residents’ movements requires enforceable protections governing searches, access, and data retention. Conway can support public safety without accepting open-ended mass surveillance.
Conway must offer competitive compensation, retain experienced firefighters, and provide reliable staffing on every shift. I will support a binding, publicly reported pay-and-staffing plan, beginning with dependable three-person truck coverage and measurable progress toward competitive regional pay.
